Tracie Peterson in her new book Steadfast Heart Book One in the Brides of Seattle series published by Bethany House Publishers takes us into the lives of Lenore Fulcher and Kolbein Booth.

From the back cover: Despite her spoiled upbringing, twenty-year-old Lenore Fulcher isnt pretentious. She simply believes a marriage should be built on true love. Her father, however, thinks shes wasted enough time searching for the perfect husband. He wants to marry her off to one of his business partnerswho is seventeen years her senioran idea that is out of the question for Lenore.

Kolbein Booth, a young lawyer from Chicago, arrives in Seattle looking for his headstrong sister, who he believes may have answered an advertisement for mail-order brides. Sick with worry, he storms into the Madison Bridal School, demanding to see his sister, only to learn she isnt there. But Lenore Fulcher is, and something about her captures his attention.

Is this the man Lenore has been searching for? She may not have long to find out

Seattle, Romance and Brides these are the ingredients for a wonderful read. Lenore is looking to get married but not to the older man who her father has chosen. She wants a real marriage not a marriage of convenience. Kolbein is looking to rescue his sister but meets Lenore instead. These two are going to have to make up their minds in how to proceed. Steadfast Heart is a wonderful romance and the history is perfectly accurate giving a picture of simpler, slower times. Ms. Peterson is an amazing writer and she has given us a great story with believable characters on Lenore and Kolbein as well as the supporting players that we just fall in love with. I liked this book and look forward to the next one in this series.

I am a big fan of Tracie Peterson. Every book that I have read by her is amazing, and Steadfast Heart keeps with the tradition. Streadfast Heart is book 1 in the Brides of Seattle series, and I cant wait to read the rest. In this book we are introduced to so many lovable characters. Lenore and her best friend Abrianna might not always look or act the same, but that only enhances their friendship. Lenore grew up in a privileged lifestyle where she was taught how to act and what you should and should not say. Abrianna was mostly raised by her Aunts and their good friend in a Bridal School. Despite being raised a certain way Lenore has a big heart for others.

Abriannas story takes center stage for a lot of the book, and I can honestly say I dont mind it one bit. Abrianna has the biggest heart for the homeless and down and outers. She is strong in her faith in God, and knows that helping them is what she is made for. One of her oldest and best friends Wade also likes to help, and will tag along with her to help in any way he can. Wade enjoys every minute he spends with Abrianna, and knows that it will never be boring. I cant wait to read more about Abrianna and her love story and hope that it takes place in book 2.

Kolbein Booth comes to Seattle in search of his little sister. When he arrives at Madison Bridal School he gets more than he bargained for. After telling the ladies about his sister, they all want to help him find her. Abrianna makes it a mission of hers to find his sister, and asks her friends to keep an eye out. Lenore and Kolbein both notice each other immediately, but is that enough? This book takes you on an adventure from beginning to end. I enjoyed the whole ride and know you will too. I received a copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.

This is Book One of a new series called Brides of Seattle. The story is set in Seattle in 1888. Lenore Fulchers best friend, Abrianna, works and lives at a Bridal School where young women learn homemaking skills, music, dancing, needlework and similar pursuits to prepare for marriage. Lenore is the daughter of a wealthy man and Abrianna is an orphan with a heart full of love and compassion for the poor.

The plot follows the usual historical romance lines, but the cast of characters is unique and likable. A couple of new men come to town; one a businessman with a questionable reputation and the other a lawyer, seeking his runaway young sister. Interactions are lively and each character has a unique spiritual relationship with God. These are truly Christian people in word and deed.

There are some loose ends that are not tied up and some mysteries left unsolved. In a stand alone book, this might be annoying, but in a series, it can only be an incentive for readers to look forward to Book Two. Several situations are ripe for expansion in the next volume and readers can hope to have answers to questions.

This is a really delightful historical romance that makes a very promising beginning to a new series. I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review and am pleased to recommend it to readers who enjoy good historical Christian romance.

In this multifaceted story, you quickly get to know and become attached to the characters. It's 1888 in Seattle, Washington at Miss Madison's school for brides. Lenore comes from a wealthy family, and her father's offices are in the same building as the school. Her father feels that it is time his daughter wed, so he's scouting for a husband for her. Abrianna, Miss Madison's niece, doesn't do well learning the basic skills or social graces. Her interests lie in helping the poor and indigent; a calling from God. Each of the girls counsel the other - Lenore helps Abrianna in social skills and Abrianna helps Lenore in spiritual study.

Kolbein comes to town looking for his sister, whom he has tracked to Seattle. He comes to the school to look for her and when she's not to be found there enlists their help. Wade has been working at and coming to the school for many years and is a lifelong friend to Abrianna.

Priam wants to buy the property where the school is to expand his business, but the ladies don't wish to sell for many personal reasons. Then people are being killed and left outside their doors. Is there a connection?

Excellent read! Another book that you aren't ready for it to end.

I have always enjoyed this author and this book didn't disappoint me. Having been to Seattle several years ago and seeing the underground streets near the water, I could envision this location. The characters were well developed and there was enough intrigue to keep me guessing as to what was going to happen next. Lenore's best friend Abrianna is compassionate with just enough stubborness thrown in to make her adventures interesting, as well as dangerous.

I am looking forward to the next book in the series, to find out what happens to Abrianna.
