I am thoroughly pleased with the Spurgeon 5 volume set. And just as please with the commitment of good service that I have enjoyed from you in past purchases. Looking forward to purchasing more resources of Spurgeon in the future.
From a recent introduction to Spurgeon's thoughts regarding Calvinism and Evangelism, and how the two are complementary rather than at odds with one another, I have been compelled to learn more on the thoughts of Spurgeon. These books contain a fair sampling of his sermons, from which we can discern those thoughts, but much as when reading the Bible, you must read through it before you can really begin to assemble a perspective on the thoughts of this most famous of preachers.
The order of the sermons presented has to do with the period when they were preached rather than an organization based upon scriptural references or subject matter. An index of both would prove very helpful for those who might be seeking out Spurgeon on specific subjects. Such is not included within these books.
These books appear to be photo reproduced from original old-style type-set printing. And the original books from which the pages were copied run the gamut from fairly readable to down right difficult - due to inadequate ink or worn type faces on some pages. It's not that they are unreadable, but they may challenge your wheel of fortune skills - filling in the blank letters that inevitable appear from time to time.
