We began using Singapore math when our children were 5. Our children studied 3A and 3B when they were 7 years old. While that seems young, if one is diligent in working through the previous books, it is very possible to have gained the ability to learn at that rate. Note: Learning math facts through Classical Conversations was a tremendous benefit to our children as they studied Singapore Math. If CC isn't an option, you may wish to teach skip counting songs or something else like Kathy Troxel's multiplication fact songs. While this program has required much effort from both child and parent, we have also received great rewards (e.g., mathematical skills, understanding that we are "in this" together and don't quit, etc...). A healthy determination is required.

Excellent resource. We would give all the Singapore Math books 5 stars! The books are visually clear and easy to understand. I recommend taking the placement test to make accurate book selection. We did and ended up starting in a lower book that I thought we would, but quickly gained speed. Now our child is faster than a calculator and loves math!

We have used Singapore Primary Math for 3 years and are very happy with it. We love that there is a huge focus on mental math practice. My son has excelled in math because of this and I highly recommend it.

We started from 1st grade with Singapore Math US Edition, and though I've looked at other programs since then, I can't even THINK about switching! I wish I had had this as a child because it makes you see it in a much easier and faster way. Yes, it takes work. But my daughter loves the format of the workbook. Looks fun and differs activities with riddles and puzzles solved with your math answers. I was disappointed that this workbook was all one color instead of multicolored. I recommend the original Singapore Math US Edition teachers edition with it. Though it has more activities than I use, it has some really great teaching ideas/methods to help your child.
