K SueVancouver, WAAge: Over 65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Clear and right on trackFebruary 8, 2013K SueVancouver, WAAge: Over 65Gender: femaleI bought this for an unbeliever who says he is good enough. The book is short but covers a lot of ground, now it is up to The Holy Spirit to do His work. Amen

Quick read, but very insightful. Brings home the central truth of Christianity in a thoughtful, at times humorous way--Christ is our only salvation.

danielcooleyRio Rancho, NMAge: 45-54Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5I Love This Book!June 1, 2012danielcooleyRio Rancho, NMAge: 45-54Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5In this book Andy seeks to clarify what the Bible teaches about how to get to heaven. In doing so he contrasts the majority (if your good works outweigh your bad stuff you will go to heaven) view with the Biblical (you need forgiveness because you can never erase your bad stuff) view. In short, great stuff.
The Good:
Andy is funny, convicting, logical, and never condescending. This is a book that will clarify the gospel for the Bible follower and agnostic alike. The length (it takes just an hour or two to read through the 94 short pages) was perfect. The reference to Mother Teresa possibly skewing the cosmic curve so that it's now harder to get into heaven was one of my favorite illustrations (p. 46). I always hated people who did that in Algebra class...
The Bad:
This is rare for me, but I found nothing not to like. I'll be loaning this one out to both struggling Christians and my agnostic friends. It should be a good conversation starter without making someone defensive.
The Ugly:
Hmmm. The house of cards on the cover didn't really resonate with me. Otherwise, this book is a must-read!

rbwhitlowOklahoma City, OKAge: 45-54Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent resource to give someoneMarch 16, 2011rbwhitlowOklahoma City, OKAge: 45-54Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I just finished reading How Good is Good Enough? by Andy Stanley. It addresses the common assumption of our day that good people deserve a good afterlife and bad people deserve something, well, bad. Stanley does an excellent job of breaking down the issue, addressing questions of whose definition of "good" are we to use? and is all of this fair? I would give this book to anyone who is having honest questions about salvation and how to make heaven. It is brief, very readable, and thorough without getting scholarly.
I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review. -
