Helga MortensenKalamazoo, MIAge: 45-54Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5September 14, 2012Helga MortensenKalamazoo, MIAge: 45-54Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5While this work is quite dated by now, Newbigin is right on target with his observations about the Kingdom of God, both in the Social Gospel as well as in the otherworldly view. His opinion is to be taken very seriously, because as a missionary outside of Europe and North America he could evaluate ivory tower theologies where the rubber hits the road.

Too deep for some readers but I enjoyed it immensely.

This brief paperback is a gem. Succinct and thoughtful lectures and deep challenges from an experienced missiologist and missionary.

cbcarter5 Stars Out Of 5Newbign at his bestDecember 2, 2014cbcarterQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5A marvelous work on missions, preface by some work on the difference between the secular world's understanding of historical progress contrasted with his take on what the Christian view should be. Second half of book deals with mission's with a critical view of what has come before and suggestions on what should lie ahead. It is dated but there aren't many like him around now. You'll be underlining and circling a lot as you read the book. It could be a heavy read for some, especially newer believers or those ignorant of Christian missions, but for those who like deep thinking understandably written, this book is excellent. Am going to search and buy more of his writings. Must buy. At the price offered, it is a steal.
