Awesome book! Delanie Miller has just left her best friend's wedding shower when her carefully built life starts to completely unravel as she sees her friend lying dead on the ground. The author soon lets the reader understand why this is particularly unnerving for Delanie when she switches back in time to young 16 year old Laura Denton's worst day of her life when she discovers her mom brutally killed. I was hooked! Who killed Clara? How could this happen to Delanie? What would happen next to Laura? This book seemed different from Brandilynn Collins' previous books because I never got the sense that someone was trying to kill Delanie — just that bad things kept happening to her and what would she do? Would she keep her faith in God? What could she do? I found this book spellbinding and just could not put it down! I received this book from TBCN in return for my honest opinion.

Thirty-four year old Delanie Miller had left behind her dark past and was trying to live a quiet life in a rural Kentucky town. When Delanie's friend is murdered and Delanie discovers the body, her quiet life is shattered and her past rears its ugly head.

Delanie was actually Laura Denton who, at sixteen, had arrived home from school one day to find her mother brutally murdered. The horror of that discovery was magnified when she was arrested and convicted of the murder. The evidence was damning. Someone had done such a good job of framing her, there was no viable defense.

This is a great novel of suspense. We experience the horror of Laura knowing she did not murder her mother yet being convicted and being sentenced. We feel the betrayal when her father comes to the conclusion she must be guilty, and when he marries way too soon after her mother's death. When Laura gets out of prison, it is not over. For her a greater terror is just beginning.

I really liked how Collins developed the character of Laura/Delanie. She struggles with her faith after her arrest yet finds strength from it at the suspenseful end.

Well, Brandilyn Collins did it again! She never fails to disappoint with her Seatbelt Suspense. Delanie Miller is living in a small, quiet town. That is, until her best friend, Clara, is murdered. While Delanie is trying to find the murderer, we find out about her former life. I loved this story line and I kept wondering how Delanie got from her former life to her current life. I am amazed at how creative Brandilyn Collins is with her story lines and how she comes up with them! She is one of my favorite authors and I definitely recommend this book to everyone out there! In fact, I've already recommended her to a lot of my reading buddies!

I received this book from bookfun for my honest opinion.

I have read many of Brandilyn Collins books and loved them all. She has another winner with Sidetracked. A great fast paced non stop murder suspense novel with a title that really fits the story. Brandilyn combines failure of the justice system, mystery, drama, fear, love, forgiveness, redemption, truths and faith in this book.

Loved how Brandilyn combines the story of Delanie Miller's/Laura Denton's present day life with her life as a young girl. Laura is accused of an unthinkable crime. Unable to prove that she is innocent and the police unwilling to to follow any other possible leads she is sent to prison. She is deserted by her friends and even her father. After being released from prison she changes her name to Delanie Miller and moves to small town Redbud, Kentucky. She has tried to erase her past and has built a new life, made many friends and met a man who loves and wants to marry her. A friend of hers is murdered and Delanie finds the body. Simple minded Billy King is arrested for the murder and believing he is innocent she butts heads with the police chief and risks exposing her previous life. What will happen if her past is exposed? Will the man she loves and the friends she has made stand beside her?

The book will grab you from the very beginning and does not turn you loose until you finish the story.

I received a copy of this book for my honest opinion and review.

"Sidetracked" is a high energy murder mystery that is hard to put down! I love how Brandilyn Collins switched back and forth between the current day and the story of what happened in the past! Each time the author switched, I wanted to read more about where I had just been...definitely kept my interest!

"Sidetracked" is actually two mysteries, about two women that have been murdered. Delaine and Laura have quite a story, and truthfully I couldn't decide which one I liked best. This book digs into what can happen when an innocent person is accused of a crime they didn't commit, the harm quick judgments can do to a person's reputation, and how easily a life can be damaged by lies. It is so easy to get sidetracked by false information.

Delaine works hard to protect a young man, while remembering things from her own past. She has worked hard to create a life for herself and is terrified about it crashing in on her. Forgiveness is a key issue for her, as well as how to handle police harassment. This is a great mystery that you will have to read yourself, as I don't want to spill the beans!

I received this book from "The Book Club Network" in exchange for my honest opinion.
