I have never been so greatly affected by anything that I've read like I have in reading this book. It has changed my life. I will be living with this book for years as a re-read applying it to my life. Thank you Dr. Welch! I feel like I have come to life.

This is one of the best books on Sexual Abuse that I have read, and I have read many. It is filled with hope. It helps shift the focus from self to the God who loves us. I will be using it as follow-up material after holding a retreat for sexually abused women.

This is the most powerful books on the subject of shame/abuse I have ever read. I felt spoken directly to by the author. It has definitely been a life altering read. I would highly recommend every Christian read this book whether you have experience shame or in order to help someone else who has. It begins with where the reader is in their hurt, pain and shame and then leads the reader to the hope found only in Jesus Christ. It will connect your shame to God's entire story of redemption laid out in all of Scripture. The book will not leave you unchanged.
