this book focuses on 5 main issues that the author believes most women struggle with at least one of the five. She defines the issue and helps the reader see how to deal with the issue through scriptures as well. An excellent study to use this fall in a ladies group.

Nicole is a gifted author, Christian counselor and youth leader who shares her struggles with control, insecurity, comparison, fear and anger (along with unforgiveness). In her experience, she has found that these "issues" seem to be common among most women and this book/study was written to help the reader live in victory vs defeat. The book includes 14 chapters that can be read by itself or can be used along with the 6-session DVD. As mentioned before the topics range from dealing with fear and anger to giving up control. Each chapter concludes with a prayer and heart probing questions with space to journal as well as a link to bonus youtube videos.

In the first chapter- Cheap Plastic Souls, the following questions really struck home, "If the grocery store cashier or your kid's teacher or the last waiter who served you described you with complete honesty, would loving be there first word he or she would use? Or would you be known by something else..." I have been challenged with the fact that so many well-meaning Christians don't exude true biblical love-love according to Luke 10:27, Matt 22:37-39, 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. This has been part of my sanctification - striving to understand and praying about how this looks in one's everyday life.

I received a copy of "She's Got Issues" book and DVD from Tyndale Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

Nicole Unice has written a book that every woman should read. "She's Got Issues" strips away the veneer of perfection we all cling to, revealing the unique, complicated beauty that we all bear. Most refreshing, Nicole shares her own struggles with 'good girl-ness'. Her own personal testimony just adds to the impact of the book.

Topics tackled within the pages are very familiar, at least to me: insecurity, control, and the incessant need to compare myself to just about anyone and everyone I meet. Each chapter is packed with Scripture, closes with a prayer (Nicole calls these "Space Bar"s, and has a few questions for you to journal and/or discuss in a small group.

One of the most unique features is a smartphone code at the end of each chapter that links you to videos from Nicole about what you've just read. I used my iPod to access a few, and they truly add an extra dimension to the book! Technology...isn't it just amazing these days!

I received a copy of "She's Got Issues" from Tyndale Publishing in exchange for an honest review, and I honestly believe this is a valuable resource for women of all ages. In fact, pass this one along to some of the younger women in your circle of influence. If they can get the message early on...oh, the freedom they will walk in! Recommended.

    What are your biggest challenges?

    Do you have issues?

    How do others see you?

    How do you see yourself?

This book focuses in depth on 5 main issues that most women struggle with, along with helpful suggestions and explainations written in a counselor's voice. Women's stories and authors included are brought into the chapters to show how others can identify with the issues being presented and what they have gone through. Also how Jesus fits into all of our issues and challenges (short comings). Included are personal assessments and self evaluation questions with group answers, prayers and topics for group discussions.

The target audience is women. Some chapters I was able to relate to, others not so much. Each reader can pick and choose which issues, or all of them, she feels needs addressing in her life. The assessment questions were beneficial in addressing my issues. I found this to be a very faith inspiring book and would recommend this book to others.

Every woman has issues, yet most of us have difficulty admitting it. Maybe we aren't aware of our issues; maybe we're ashamed of them; maybe we don't think they could ever go away.

In She's Got Issues, Nicole Unice lays bare the five and a half issues faced by most women (Control, Insecurity, Comparison, Fear, Anger and its cousin Unforgiveness) and challenges us to get real about our problems. I didn't expect to relate so much to this book, but I found myself being challenged chapter after chapter.

Issues that I had accepted as normal or that I was afraid to uncover, such as Comparison and Insecurity, were faced head-on. Reading Nicole's writing was like having a heart-to-heart with an understanding but honest friend. She encouraged me but also dared me to rise above my issues.

Until reading this book, I didn't think my issues had any major effects. I didn't think I could truly change them, so I figured I needed to learn to cope instead. Nicole shows how our issues hold us back from living and loving the way God intended.

Each chapter is filled with humor, insight, practicality, and applicable Scriptures. Nicole's writing style makes the book appealing to women of all ages. A "Space Bar," with journal space and questions, sparks deeper thought and concludes each chapter.

Although I disagreed with the author on some things, I still give She's Got Issues 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it to any woman ready to tackle her own issues.

I received this book from the publisher for free in exchange for my review.
