Amy CVAAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A New SeasonJanuary 6, 2015Amy CVAAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5A New Season: A Robertson Family Love Story of Brokenness and Redemption is by Duck Commander's "beardless brother" Al Robertson and his wife, Lisa. Al and Lisa Robertson tells how their lives were like growing up and during their school days. They tell about the heartache they experienced during those years, which led them far from God and turning to drugs, alcohol, sex and other evil lifestyles. Al briefly describes what it was like being Phil Robertson's son in the early years and how he took care of his younger brothers while Miss Kay tried to make ends meet. Lisa tells of being molested at a young age and her relationship with her family. She also shockingly reveals that at age 16, she has an abortion.
Al and Lisa met while in middle school. Lisa was quickly smitten. They began dating in high school where Al introduces her to fast cars, alcohol, drugs, and sex. Al was not a very nice young man and treats Lisa horribly, leaving her heartbroken. He later turns himself around, leading back to Lisa. They marry and endured many obstacles for the next thirty years. Including the early birth of their daughter, Al going to preaching school, loneliness and infidelity.
Lisa is very honest when she discusses her emotional affair with one man and then a sexual affair with another. This led Al to make important choices regarding his marriage and what was best for his family. How he deals with it is truly inspiring. After many problems in their marriage, Al and Lisa proves that any marriage can endure anything.
Every chapter in the book has a section called "Seasoned Reflections", which includes scripture for inspiration and encouragement. At the end there is an Appendix: Two Keys to a Dynamic Marriage and Questions for Individual Reflection or Group Discussions.
Great book for married couples.

Kelly5 Stars Out Of 5Fantastic read!May 14, 2018KellyQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book has been on my reading wish list since I heard Al and Lisa speak on the Focus on the Family radio broadcast. I picked it up one night and read until 4 am. Finished it the next day. It is an honest, genuine and transparent story about two people whose lives were transformed once they becamed saved by Jesus Christ. The evidence is undeniable and the story is powerful. It provides hope to all marriages who have struggles. I shared it with my husband and he is enjoying it also. Can't wait to discuss the questions with him for each chapter at the end of the book.
