The other two reviews here at the time of my review are nearly 10 years old. I'm not sure how similar the current edition's text/language is to what they used then, but this advertised edition mentions nothing that a Christian would find troublesome or even mildly concerning. It's clean ... and even informative (i.e., historical and geographical facts presented in word problems)

I really appreciate how well organized and clear the lessons are. A child who does well with reading comprehension will be able to complete the work independently.

this is a fabulous math curriculum that does a wonderful job reinforcing previous concepts while slowly stepping up the new material. My daughter has done well with it this year. I will say I find this to be about perfect for 3rd grade. I might possibly use 54 for a student in 4th who was slightly behind and needed more time on concepts but it seems way below what I would expect my 5th grader to be doing. J know many families using 54 for their average 3rd grade math student and doing well.

This is an excellent math program. It is easy for a home-school mom to use, and it gives a good foundation for upper level math. It is not a Christian publication so there are story problems that may mention things at a Christian might not agree with. They are few, but they can be a means of initiating a discussion to reinforce beliefs.

This is the first year we are doing homeschooling and I am pleased that Saxon Math curriculum is offered for homeschoolers. My daughter had this program at school so we are able to continue from where she started!
