ShannahAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent mix of suspense, romance, and hopeJanuary 5, 2015ShannahAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book is heart wrenching! It pulls you into the story with the first page. It is extremely well written with great characters and a well developed plot. Be aware: this book deals with a very sensitive topic. Child prostitution and exploitation is very real. The author does an excellent job of making the reader aware of the seriousness of the topic and what these girls go through without being explicit. The topic was tastefully written into the story.
Kate Winslow was an excellent heroine. She is strong in her faith and knows what the Lord wants from her. She doesn't crumble in the face of adversity, it makes her stronger. She had her share of struggles and human characteristics, but that only endeared her to me more. Wyatt was another excellently developed character. I really enjoyed watching their romance blossom.
The message of the story was written in very well. Even when you feel like you're back's against the wall, God is there. With God, nothing is impossible. In God, there is hope.
Overall, this book was an excellent mix of suspense, romance, and hope. I cannot wait to read the next book! -

BooksByBarnesTexasAge: 35-44Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Two Thumbs Way Up!August 15, 2012BooksByBarnesTexasAge: 35-44Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I began reading this book thinking--probably because it'd been a while since I read the book description--that this would be a historical. Surprisingly, it's a contemporary romantic suspense. And a very good one at that. This novel kept me hooked to the very end. The plot has plenty of twists and turns that just beg you to continue flipping pages and occasionally hold your breath. :) Beacon of Hope School director Kate Winslow and Texas Ranger Wyatt Sheridan are wonderful characters that you can't help but root for as they try to find a missing student who formerly escaped from a human trafficking organization.
I give this book two thumbs way up and five stars to boot. :) -
