I read Ruthless during a difficult period and I found it so practical and helpful. It had short chapters which let me pick it up whenever I could and not feel like I had to find my place. The "Pondering" sections at the end of each chapter let me do just that! I will read this book over and over because it helps at whatever stage. Knowing God has my back and fights for me is a promise I want to land on.
Without question, Bo and her family face extreme difficulties, yet the reader is not asked to dwell in the muck of their battle with ALS. The reader is thrown a lifeline to their own struggles. The lifeline grounds us in the truth of the character of God.
The chapters are short but deep. It took me awhile to get through the first few chapters because I was so challenged by their truths; fighting daily battles and seeing them in a new light, applying truth and watching God work in His timing.
This book was easy to read yet profoundly deep and life changing. It is so lovely to be reminded that in this world there will be trouble but we aren't alone. There is a mighty God fighting for us and loving us along the way. You will love this book and return to it often for encouragement and as a reference book.
