I have several commentaries from MacAuthur and his insight and clear language make this a must have series. This is definately a resource I will come back to again and again for personal study, teaching and preaching.

This is an excellent commentary on the book of Romans -- the best I have found on the subject.

I think John MacArthur is the most thorough teaching pastor I've sat under and heard. His aim to preach through the Bible "one verse at a time" guarantees a thorough hermeneutical study of God's Word. I feel like I've understood God's Word clearly presented. His commentaries present an even more thorough exposition.

I use the commentaries to prepare my Sunday School lessons and Men's Group material. It is a great tool to have if you have a question about a certain scripture. It even breaks some veses down into sections to better understand.

I have purchased other commentaries and they were not of the quality of these.

This Commentary is very easy to read and comprehensive. MacArthur is biblically sound. He does not delve into his own thought processes but sticks to scripture. He also lists supporting scripture. The only thing I would be negative about is that at times he will jump ahead in his commentary and then have to back track. This is difficult when you are taking notes on a verse by verse basis.
