Mandy Farmer5 Stars Out Of 5A book everyone should readApril 16, 2016Mandy FarmerQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0A book everyone should read ... probably more than once to be reminded of the importance of rest.
Buchanan took a sabbatical to research the subject of the rest of God. And found so much that pricked his own heart about taking too little rest. He noticed that "the harder he worked, the less he accomplished." and he realized that "the sabbath was a form of mending". There is some renewal that only comes from resting in the Lord and being still.
In my own life, I have always known the importance of the sabbath, but Bachanan has placed a new and fresh look at The Rest of God. The Sabbath is about much more than going to church on Sunday. It's about the much need time to be still. God must have known how easily we find we are running ourselves ragged. And how we would need instruction and reminders on this.
Never have I read a book and wanted to read it again before I had even finished it the first time. I'm putting the book back on my list of "Books to Read" cause I plan to read it again. -
LearningFloridaAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Information ALL Christians need to readNovember 13, 2011LearningFloridaAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5God said the Sabbath was to be observed for all time. It is one of the Ten Commandments. For some reason, we believe we are supposed to continue keeping MOST of the Ten Commandments - but not the Fourth one. Or, we feel that the Sabbath, which God clearly said was the seventh day of the week, should be changed to the first day. This book is a must read for clearing up many misconceptions and wrong teachings that we have received.

Spencer Daniel5 Stars Out Of 5August 20, 2007Spencer DanielI was really blessed in a big way by Chapter 14 in this book. God gave him the insight on how to counsel a woman who had a desolate past. He relates the very good things that then happened in her life. It changed the way he counseled people.

I'm looking forwrd to slowly digesting all the gems of wisdom that he's sharing.
