This book revealed so much to me about the harm shame does to us, both physically and emotionally. This shame is passed, unknowingly, between generations, leaving us dragging our huge ball of guilt. Unhealthy families are taught to be seen and not heard. We learn how to hide our secrets, our past struggles and even our feelings, so we end up being numb and silent. After reading even a few pages, this book enlightened me to the truth that we are completely loved and forgiven by Jesus. This book was one of the best revelations for me to understand me and how I was able to be set free. Awesome!!!!

This has been a truly amazing book. It has hit on issues in my life that I didn't even remember. It has and continues to be a very important instrument in my healing process.

While reading the first half of the book, I found myself literally having a hard time staying awake. I almost quit reading it because I just wasn't getting anything new. In the second half of the book, I did learn a few things. Overall, it didn't inspire me very much.
