Last year I ordered my student "A Reason for Handwriting" (Book C, I believe). It was the first designated handwriting book in this series for cursive writing. My student did well with it, but his penmanship is still not where I'd like it to be. With that in mind, I found this book when trying to order curriculum for this year. My thoughts were this would help him improve his print and then reinforce what he learned last year with cursive. Ultimately, I think/know this is going to take longer that the 180 days that are allotted for school. It's a rather thick book and takes the child completely through all lower and uppercase letters in both print and cursive. I think it would be wiser to just invest in this ONE book rather than purchase the print and cursive books separately.

One of the things I really love about these handwriting books is that they also have Scripture verses for the children to copy with each of the weekly lessons. (When they are first being introduced to the letters themselves and not practicing words and Scriptures, it is only the letters they'll practice, no Scriptures.)

Handwriting T is a transition book for second or third grades separated into three sections (manuscript, cursive, and border pages). There are 10 daily manuscript lessons followed by 27 weeks worth of manuscript lessons (divided into 5 days each). Then in section two, there are 45 daily cursive lessons followed by 27 weeks worth of cursive lessons (divided into 5 days each). Section three consists of the border pages (used on Friday of each week). The front of the border pages are larger lines for the manuscript lessons and smaller lines on the back sides for the cursive lessons. This book is orgaized very nicely and the page headings are color coded. My daughter enjoys this book. I highly recommend this book.

We love all of the books in this curriculum! We used this for our first and second born and we plan on using them for all our subsequent kids. The scripture is such a valuable part of the writing and it reinforces it in their lives as we write and then post things around the home or mail them to others. We are sad that our eldest is beginning the last book in the series. We don't know how we will begin our day next year when she's "too old" for them. I highly recommend these to anyone who places a high value on scripture to enrich their kids lives-- the handwriting is also very simple and not flowery-- it's cursive that we all use as adults and not some strange writing that one only sees in handwriting text books.

I am going on my 3rd child I am homeschooling and my kids comprehend this curriculum very well. My oldest son transitioned to cursive very easily in 2nd grade and has continued to write real well. Even if public schools take cursive writing out, my children will know how to write and read it and this series helps them much!

We have tried countless writing programs & this is by far the very best! 3 of my children have transitioned into cursive with NO TEARS! They do enough writing in other subjects & this is the perfect balance of Scripture, practice & it's colorful & fun for the student! Not overwhelming.HUGE BLESSING!
