it is a great reminder of the truth of the parable of the prodigal son. i have a fuller understanding of this parable because of the explanation of Prodigal and its application to the father. i have loaned my copy out several times and bought numerous copies and given them away

My small group is using this for our current study, We're incorporating the book along with the DVD, which really enhances the study. This is very in-depth, using the theme of the Prodigal Son from the Bible. It helps us to understand that both sons were sinners, not just the younger who took all his inheritance and squandered it, but also the elder who was so self-righteous. The main thing to remember is that God, our Father wants a relationship and that sometimes many of us are like the elder son, which takes away that relationship with our Father.

Keller's explanation of the "parable of the prodigal son" is very helpful, again reminding the reader of God's amazing grace, and the pitfalls of trying to be good enough to merit this grace - every Christian and every seeker should read this book!
