    The physical qualities:

A perfect sized book, not too big or too small, not too heavy, good quality cover and nice thick pages, (vs. cheap pages with bleed-through or rough cheap paper) with gold gilt-edging. It is divided into topics which I find very handy.

    Now, on to the review:

I worried that this would be another Christian women book full of foo foo and fluff that leave you feeling like you just ate a low-fat diet fudge cookie: sickly sweet and hardly fulfilling...

Or worse yet, most of the book taken up with incredibly boring meandering stories about the author's own life with a tacked-on lesson that leaves you wondering how it fully relates to the story...

Instead I found that this book is firmly down to Earth, absolutely straight-talking, no-nonsense, no fluff, and if anything is shared from the author's life it is written in such a way that I am riveted. And, best of all, I can relate to the experiences and the emotions and I am given tangible solutions. Not just a temporary quick fix for my emotions that fades when I put the book down, but actual mind-and-soul-training solutions that carry on long after I've shut the book and walked away.

THIS is what we women are looking for! This book... it is so unassuming, it is so plain and ordinary looking when compared to some of the other books out there, and yet it is amazing!

(I am not saying that an author sharing her own life experiences is a bad thing. There's just a right and a boring way to do it. If a woman feels like she just spent 20 minutes reading, "It's all about Me, Me, Me!" and 3 minutes of that is spent learning a rather vague lesson that is, allegedly, attached to the meandering self-story... then you're doing it wrong.)

This is not a book that someone will sit down to read cover to cover all at once. It's a book that is divided into sections to help you overcome certain struggles at different times in a persons life. I have found myself going back to this book several times over the past few years, to help me with a temptation. I have recommended this book to lots of people over the years and have not had anyone give me bad feedback on it.

This is an AMAZING book for anyone struggling in areas of insecurity, anxiety, etc. I get excited to sit down with this book...Beth Moore has taken the scripture related to different areas of issue and strongholds and turned them into prayers...so you are praying God's Word, releasing His power to demolish these strongholds that can affect so many areas of our lives. Reading this book draws me closer to God and is helping me to strengthen my relationship with Him and my faith. I have purchased additional copies for my sisters and friends!

This is an excellent book to help with everyday ups and downs and as a tool to remain trusting in God to help you through anything and using this book to stay ever aware of his guidance and goodness is very helpful. I love it and gave several away as gifts.

This review was written for Praying God's Word, Large Print Edition.
I ordered this book for myself in large print during a time someone close to me had deeply hurt me and betrayed me. It's not a book I pick up and read cover to cover. But that was five years ago and I can't tell you how many times I've used it for God's word to pray for me when I wasn't able to put pray for myself. Reading God's word the way Beth has written it has comforted me many times and I highly highly recommend this book for anyone and everyone. Many times the Scriptures just jumped off the page to me and touched my heart. I still find myself taking this book up when I want to spend time with God.
