MLB5 Stars Out Of 5November 14, 2009MLBThis book reads like a girlfriend sharing her best recipes and stories to her best friend. It is packed with beautiful-step by step photos of each recipe, including unbelievable breathtaking photos of the author's family and life on the ranch. Each recipe comes with well written and witty descriptions of techniques, ingredients, and tips, including substitutions to "gussy" them up making them more suited to a "city-style" life or taste. The adaptions are easy substitutions that go well with all she suggests. The author is honest, personal, and candid about her love of family, animals, life, and food. Any woman, city or country, would love this wonderful book. It is not just a beautiful cookbook with WONDERFUL recipes but a peak into a life change/love story/and current love affair. Oh, and the author did the whole book, including the pictures with just her family and friends. I own MANY expensive cookbooks by many famous chefs and this books equals any that are on my shelves. It is a top choice for all my fave girlfriends this Christmas.

Becky5 Stars Out Of 5Five star for sureJanuary 18, 2017BeckyQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0Gotta love this family & the matriarch's wit and charm. Most of the recipes I've tried are the kind of foods I could stick under my pillow so I can still snack on them in my dreams...yummy. Love the down-homey feel of her quips, photos, and the foods themselves. If a recipe book feels like home, it's good.
