A Passion Denied (the third book of The Daughters of Boston series) is a continuation of Julie Lessman's O'Connor family saga, this one focusing on the romance between Elizabeth O'Connor and John Brady. Knowing John Brady since she was thirteen (He's her brother-in-law's partner and best friend) he has been her spiritual mentor, crush, and knight in shining armor. While John has thought of her as the sister he never had.Now that she's eighteen, Elizabeth wants him to see her as a woman and return her love. John, though is scared to recognize his feelings for her and wants to remain friends. Further complicating matters is a dark past he won't reveal and the appearance of his twin brother,Michael. Although this is the main plot there are a few subplots woven through the book continuing the story of the other characters that we've come to love, even a few new ones are introduced. To Julie Lessman's credit the different plots never become confusing . With her magic touch Julie Lessman keeps the story flowing very smoothly. Another Lessman touch that should be mentioned is her attention to her historic details. Not only does she tell you the story begins in 1922,she gives you a feeling of what the times are like . From the clothes ,to hair,to entertainment we're shown how things are changing from the WWI era to the Jazz Age. Even the main heroine Elizabeth has her hair cut and changes her name to Lizzie to become a modern woman. With these factors and the themes of love patience, and forgiveness mixed through the story A Passion Denied is a must read novel and a wonderful, heart touching addition to the O'Connor family story.

APD was a beautifully written novel. Julie worked her magic as she wove the tale of Beth and Brady.

The romance doesn't disappoint as she lets the reader in on the lives of Charity and Faith O'Connor.

I couldn't put this book down...as with all the others.

Julie is hands-down my favorite author. Give her a read...you won't be sorry!

I just can't say enough for this # 3 in the series and the series itself as a whole. I was lucky enough to have all three books to read at once and did just that. Spent the entire weekend in what has become my favorite books, my favorite reading family and my now favorite author. I have laughed and cried and been connected to some eye opening explanations of scripture that Julie Lessman has a unique gift of imparting. What an experience this has been.

We have seen Elizabeth grow up to be Lizzie now and are reading her own personal love story. I really like the strong female characters in Julie Lessman's books, but I am also drawn to the equally strong male characters in her books. The love stories between characters are so passionately and tastefully written, it is so hard to put each book down. The reader can't wait to see what happens next in the story line. I have to say that I am drawn to Julie's books once again because of her passion for love and romance but especially the passionate way she writes about God. I have read these books from start to finish at least 3 times and have purchased them all. I highly recommend these great stories but do read them in order.

I absolutely loved this series! I enjoyed this book as much as the other two in the trilogy. I am so happy to have found Julie Lessman's books. The O'Connors seem so real I hated to see this book end. Then I found out that there is a prequel to this series so I bought it to read on my tablet. I hope everyone enjoys these books as much as I have. But if not, I have enjoyed them enough for everyone. I've stayed up late to finish these wonderful books.
