I have listened to Steven B. Stevens' narration of the NASB almost every day for years. It is far and away my favorite audio Bible...actually, my favorite thing to listen to.

Stephens' voice is the best of all the Bible narrators I have ever listened to (which are many). (No audio sample is available at this website as I write this review, but you can hear a sample at http://www.biblebible.com/audio-bible/NASB-Bible-Audio-CD.asp).

At the beginning of each chapter, Stevens says the name of the book, and the chapter number (e.g. "Exodus three"). This helps me stay aware of where in the Bible I'm listening. It also helps as I press the skip button, to hear if I'm in the book I want. (Many other audio Bible narrators simply say the chapter number [e.g. "Chapter three"], without saying the book name [except at the beginning of each book]).

I copied the CDs to iTunes on my computer, and then to my iPod nano. On either my computer or my ipod, the playback can continue nonstop (I don't have to change CDs). I can also create a playlist (e.g. a particular chapter; set of chapters; a particular book; or set of books), and set those chapters to repeat over and over, if I want).

I also copied this audio Bible into Windows Media Player (WMP) on my computer, where I can control the playback speed (from half-speed up to double-speed, and any speed in between). From WMP, you can copy the entire Bible onto an MP3 player of your choice, apparently.

I enjoy connecting my iPod or my computer to my radio transmitter (WholeHouseFMtransmitter.com), which broadcasts the narration to every tuned-in FM radio within range of the transmission (the whole house, and then some).

This narration is voice-only (which is wonderful). That allows me to mix in background music, or nature sounds, of my choice (if I want to). (Mixing in background sounds requires a separate player for those sounds: either from a second program on your computer, or from a player separate from your CD-player or MP3 player [mixed in using a Y-cable, and an audio cable leading to a speaker]).

The most important reason why I like this audio Bible is because the NASB is considered by many people to be the most literally accurate translation from the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts.

These are the primary reasons why I believe that Steven B. Stevens' narration of the NASB is is the best audio Bible available in the English language.

I have listened to other readers, and even reenacted editions of other Bible versions but always come back to this one. I can't stand listening to anyone else reading the Bible for me. Steven's voice allows the Word of God to enter my heart without distraction. His enunciation is clear and his tone is very inviting.
