Lonestar Angel, written by Colleen Coble, is a mystery full of twists and turns, secrets, a missing child, and an ill fated romance. Don't let the cover fool you- this book is action packed! Newlyweds Eden and Clay Larson's baby is kidnapped and they are led to believe that she has died. Eden and Clay end their marriage (or do they?) as they both blame themselves for the loss of their baby. Five years later Clay receives an anonymous letter telling him their baby, Brianna, is still alive. Eden and Clay find themselves together again in the search for their baby. Going undercover they get a job working at Bluebird Ranch- a camp for orphaned children. There are five little orphaned girls at Bluebird Ranch about the age of their daughter. Is one of them their Brianna? They are praying that God will help them find the truth. I found myself looking for moments just to sneak in a page or two! Lonestar Angel is well written, the characters are wonderfully described and the mystery will have you guessing all the way to the end- just the way I like it! I gave the book 5 stars out of 5 and cannot wait to read more books by Colleen Coble!

    Lonestar Angel by Colleen Coble

To say i devoured this novel would be stating it mildly. From an upscale restaurant in Charlie Creek, to the desert of Texas, Colleen had me sitting on the edge of the seat the whole way! This book is Intense, to say the least.

Her vivid descriptions have the reader seeing the allusive roadrunner, the beautiful sunsets and sunrises that only the desert can provide, the cacti and their flowers, tasting the dust , hearing the happy squeals of little girls, smelling the chilli cooking. I felt the fear towards the rattler that gave no warning, the uncertainty of tarantulas, and the anguish of seeing abused horses. The challenges of counsellors dealing with children in foster homes are huge, and this is brought out in a very enlightening and positive way.

Many times i had to put the book down and leave it, just to bring myself back into the reality of life in my own living room as opposed to the Bluebird Ranch, only to be drawn back to the story to find out what happened next. And just when i thought i knew where the story was heading, someone or something happened to make it all change direction again.

Once again, Colleen has lived up to my expectations of her writing.

This review was written for Lonestar Angel - eBook.
Lonestar Angel, by Colleen Coble, is a fantastic novel. Coble keeps the reader in suspense until the very end.

Eden Larson begins the book just about to accept a marriage proposal, but her plans change when ex-husband, Clay Larson, walks into the situation and informs her that they are still married. He also brings shocking news that the daughter she thought had been killed five years earlier is still alive. In the remaining story, the couple work to determine which one of five adorable little girls is their daughter, only to fall in love with all of the girls and each other in the end. The process involves much heartache and danger, including drug cartel, kidnapping, theft, and attempted murder.

This book is a must-read for those who enjoy suspense novels. The characters are well-developed and grab your heart right from the beginning. The plot is carefully developed, so you won't want to put the book down. It is very well done!

I enjoyed this story greatly. It was suspenseful throughout and kept me guessing for 2/3rds of the story. It was a good blend of who was their child and who sent them there. I also enjoy series where you can see previous characters in supporting roles. It helps me determine whether their story is one that I would enjoy reading. I find Colleen Coble's style of writing to be varied, her ideas are to be realistic and make for exciting reads. Whether modern or historic her mysteries are ones that I wish to both rush through and hate to see end. It is always a treasure to see how people cling to the Lord during the hard times and this book is no exception to placing God as the one who leads. Ms. Coble's characters are always believable and promote the best in christian community. I would recommend this book to people and any other book written by Colleen Coble.

Lonestar Angel had me from the first pages. Eden and Clay's daughter was kidnapped as an infant. Eden thought she had died, but Clay had received a clue that she was alive.

The story never slowed down as they raced across the country in their search. It made me want to keep reading to discover the answer.

The Lonestar Series by Colleen Coble is a series you don't want to miss.
