The book of Joshua is one of my favorites and I've done many studies on this. The way the study is set up with the 'side bars' for additional information is such a blessing. Our study group has done previous books on Esther/Ruth, Ephesians and James and we've always enjoyed each of them.

Although the price has gone up a dollar since I purchased my book a few months ago, the investment is well worth the cost. This is a wonderfully study. Not only do the authors get into the meat of God's Word but they provide insightful questions for practical application. Our women are thoroughly enjoying this study.

Am enjoying so far, but I'm finding that 20 minutes is not enough time to pray, read, reflect, and answer 9 questions. Am dividing each day's reading into two.

I have really enjoyed this study. It has helped me be more consistent in my quiet time because it provides even the main verses required for the day printed in the book itself. So I can grab a few minutes of time with just the book and enjoy God's word.

    Ill start with the positives:

I love Bible studies that take you through a passage or book verse by verse to break down whats really happening. This study does exactly that, which helps me to slow down and really appreciate what the scripture is saying. There are some good reflection questions to help you apply the passage to your everyday life. Ive had several "aha" moments connecting Gods work in the past to my life today.

    Now for the negatives:

    - Stylistically, some of the questions give you plenty of space to write down answers in the book, while other questions (usually the more impactful ones, too) give you literally zero space to write your answer. Sometimes they say to journal about it in another notebook, but I think it would make more sense if they left space in the book itself to pen your answer.

    - The absolute biggest red flag about this book is the Christian Nationalism that comes up way too often to be comfortable. I understand that talking about the US Military is a natural connection for many who are reading the book of Joshua, but it really detracts from the overall message when the authors feel the need to glorify the military so often.

    - Finally, in connection to my above point, I find it reprehensible that the authors glorify the confederate army and Robert E. Lee by telling a story about a former soldier greeting his general by breaking down into tears and saying it was an honor to serve him (Day 5 of Lesson Four). How is it appropriate to include a story about an army that actively fought for the oppression of human beings in a study about Gods work to free HIS oppressed people? Did the authors really not catch the irony of that?

Ill continue to go through the rest of the book as I think there are good insights sprinkled throughout, but I find myself deeply frustrated by most of the illustrations given before or after the lesson. I dont doubt the faith of these women, but the partiality towards American Christians specifically precludes me from buying other studies by them.
