Alpha Omega lifepacs are a great workbook. Each book is filled with great lessons. My kids smile and feel great when they have completed a unit and can not wait for the next one.

    Not enough for my child

We have been using lifepac for a few weeks now and my daughter gets really frustrated with it. There's not enough instructions or clear examples for her. I would not use it again. It sounded great to be able to just let her do it independently but it's been more frustrating than anything.

This Life Pac is okay. I love some of the other ones, but this one is just okay. I'm sure it would be GREAT for some kids...just not mine. I believe it needs more "drills" to help fix the Life Pac lessons into memory. Just saying, "do this" isn't enough for my child. We need thorough examples and reviews in this particular subject.

We tried this LifePac this year as a way to free up some of my time from the intensive direct instruction approach that so many other language arts curricula take. Unfortunately, I found the teachers guides to be severely lacking in telling me what I needed to teach when, so often my child would simply progress through the workbook until she couldn't do something and then come and ask me how to do it.

She found it frustrating because she's bright, but felt inadequate because she couldn't figure it out herself. The goal of teaching spelling, handwriting, grammar, etc. all in one lifepac is a noble one (and a dream for a busy homeschool Mom), but the reality is that it falls far short of that goal.

I'm glad it was there so that I had a bit of a break for one year, but I would not continue with it for my regular curriculum.
