This series far exceeded my expectations! Our three girls ages 8 and 5(twins) cannot wait to watch this wholesome, age appropriate show during their weekly tv time on Friday and Saturday. The stories are engaging and I love how they incorporate a diversity of historical figures from George Washington and Thomas Paine to Phyllis Wheatley and Abigail Adams. This series has triggered wonderful conversations at home and with our local librarian who has helped the girls find books on their favorite historical figures. As others have stated, I truly cannot believe this series was $5.00 when I purchased it and even at $9.00 it is still a great value!

Our children love it; my 82 yo Father really liked it too. Delighted to come across it; our older children remembered watching it on public television and now the younger ones are enjoying it.

My children (4 and 11) both love this series. We are learning American History in homeschool this year and it ties in SO well.

My only problem is with the intro song. It fails my mind at the moment, but there are words I don't approve of, as a Christian. Something like honoring someone besides God, or trusting in yourself. Maybe looking for some kind of hero in the world. I wish I could remember so I could bring more detail to this review, sorry! The words are VERY catchy, so you really need to pay attention to when the episode is over so that kiddos don't have to listen to it over and over again; it WILL stick.

That being said, however, the series itself seems very historical, very good colors, my kids love it and can watch it for a couple of hours at a time, several episodes at once. Good stuff.

As a homeschooling family, my kids love these movies. The stories bring about discussion about what truly happened or what is possible fiction. A great deal for $5.00.
