jan5 Stars Out Of 5Liberty's KidsOctober 8, 2015janQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I purchased several of these to give to my grandchildren and their grammar schools. The teachers are are very excited about having this resource to enhance their history studies. My children are also delighted that they can watch these right along with their children. I watched this on tv several years ago and immediately realized the potential to make history come alive for children. I have always loved history, especially American history. The younger generations need to understand the significance and uniqueness of America and how we came to be.

srjackson174 Stars Out Of 5Great supplement for teaching US historyJune 20, 2015srjackson17Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4This is a great tool for either introducing a new topic of US history or reviewing after the topic has already been taught. I've used it both ways and it's worked well either way. I think it would work best for ages 7+ but my son who is almost 4 will from time to time actually sit through an entire episode(although probably isn't retaining much information haha). That being said my DD who is 8 LOVES it and has asked on more than one occasion this summer to watch it, just because she enjoys the series! In my book that is a win!
Q: Any violence? My kids are more sensitive to violence than others. Considering this is about a war, can anyone give me any specifics as to what is shown. I understand that there's probably not bloody battles or anything, but I guess I'm asking about how much peril, death, and violence.
It's been a while since my kids watched this show, but I dont' remember violence being excessive. The focus was really more on the history and characters. It's a great tool for kids to learn about history. One of our product reviews for this DVD set states "My 6 year old loves it and the content isn't too intense for his 4 year old brother to be in the room with him."
