Marta Perry is a good writer. She has some humour in her book just when you need it. Suspense is also in her books. I enjoy reading stories about the Amish folk.

I loved this book. It was exciting, interesting and full of adventure. I liked Leah, she was very believable and I sympathized with her heartached and loved her way with children as a school teacher. I liked Daniel and was thrilled Johnny couldn't persuade her to change her beliefs. I loved how Leah's love for the Lord did not sway when temptation presented itself. She was grounded deeply in the Lord and would not change. I appaud that. I highly recommend this book.

When I saw the cover I didn't want to read the book. It seemed so boring, but I did read it and I'm glad I did. The book was interesting. Characters were easy to love. I probably will read the other books in series too.
