We just started this in the last month. But so far over happy with it. One this that I was not sure how I would feel about is that it dose not tell you were to start. So it took us a little time to see where we wanted to start.

We enjoyed using this character building book in homeschooling our 10 year old. The study is thorough and thought-provoking and helped my child make connections between scripture and her own behavior. (We made our own "flashcards" for each verse.) We went through the studies together and therefore did not really see the need for an answer key (as one reviewer noted the absence of one). I knew when I purchased the book that it used KJV scripture, and thought it would be easy enough to substitute the ESV version of the verse. My intention was to simply re-write the memory/theme verse at the top of the page (and for our flashcards) in ESV. Most of the time this worked out great-- but occasionally the answers to study questions were not readily apparent to my child in using an alternate translation and therefore frustrating for her. As we went along, a couple times I even chose a completely different verse in ESV to better illustrate the concept. The study would have been easier for us to use wtih ESV (or at least the NIV I grew up with), but it is still an excellent resource and have recommended it to others.

We homeschool, so each morning before we begin our school work we use this for a bible study. It is really simple to use. My kids love the "If" part of the study. The only thing I do not care for is the verses are in the KJV, which can be hard to understand for some. I just look the verses up online and use a bible version that kids can easily understand.

I was wanting something to help teach my kids Godly characteristics from a Biblical standpoint. This book certainly has many characteristics that it goes through & they are based on verses. However, most of the studies only have 1 or 2 verses that support them. Perhaps I expect too much from my kids, but I would like it to be "meatier" on the Biblical side of things. They do seem to like it & learn what the Bible says about the characteristics, but ultimately, I want them to know Jesus, love Him, & trust in Him. This is a good dinner time discussion time book, but it will not count as our "Bible Class" for homeschool. I would like a bit more of a study format for that. I hope you understand what I'm saying! I don't want to be too negative, because it is a good book, but just not what I expected or was looking for.
