Every story whispers his name.
A Bible like no other, The Jesus Storybook Bible invites children to join in the greatest of all adventures, to discover for themselves that Jesus is at the center of God's great story of salvation--and at the center of their own story too!
The Jesus Storybook Bible tells the story beneath all the stories in the Bible. At the center of all is a baby, the child upon whom everything will depend. From Noah, to Moses, to the great King David—every story points to him. He is the missing piece to the puzzle—the piece that makes all the other pieces fit together. From the Old Testament through the New Testament, as the story unfolds, children will pick up the clues and piece together the puzzle.
The Jesus Storybook Bible makes an excellent gift at Christmas, when we all remember that he is the puzzle piece that makes all the other pieces in our lives fit.

L.S.3 Stars Out Of 5Good but not greatMarch 31, 2015L.S.Quality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4I bought this to use with homeschool and teaching Sunday School. After reading about it on different websites, I thought it would be above great, but it isn't. For instance, I was going to use it for church this Sunday, Palm Sunday. But, there's no story about Palm Sunday in it! Also, the pictures are a little bit freaky.

Cassie HaleIndianapolis, INAge: 35-44Gender: female1 Stars Out Of 5Surprised and DisappointedFebruary 8, 2015Cassie HaleIndianapolis, INAge: 35-44Gender: femaleDue to the glowing recommendation of a couple friends, I grabbed this title and another for my then-5--year-old to look through and choose for a new, fresh reading. So, this review is partly a reflection of her opinion and mine. First, I found some of the stories to be inaccurate when compared to actual Scripture. I also felt that it was overly emotional. I thought the illustrations were distracting and unattractive, and I realize this is a matter of opinion. My daughter said she did not like this one because it was ugly and said the same thing. She was referring to the end of each story that refers back to Jesus. The Complete Illustrated Children's Bible published by Harvest House won her vote, as well as the Catherine Vos Child's Story Bible. The selection was wider and showed the complete character of God rather than just majoring on his attribute of love. Anyway, just our opinion. I am very surprised at it's popularity. It isn't one I would gift, especially to a new believer.
SG5 Stars Out Of 5Jesus Storybook BibleJanuary 30, 2015SGQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I love how the thread/theme of God's love and His "rescue plan" is emphasized all the way through, from creation and on. Don't expect every famous story to be here--I was looking for Esther the other day, and realized that part isn't there--but then there is a very sweet section based on Isaiah, as well as a little about Ezra and Nehemiah that is very well done. I'm reading from this to my class of pre-K kids, and they are enjoying it. The language used is delightful.

Tell us a little about yourself. I am a British born children's book writer living in New York City. I came to the States from the UK in 1989--just for a year. I"m still here. I have worked for several years as the publisher of Christian Children's Books for Reader's Digest before leaving in 2000 to write full time. I have written three other best-selling children's Bibles: Baby's First Bible; A Child's First Bible; and The Lift-The-Flap Bible. I can be found at sallylloyd-jones.com
What was your motivation behind this project? I wrote this so children could know that God is for them and loves them with a Never Stopping, Never Giving up, Unbreaking, Always and Forever Love.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? The Jesus Storybook Bible tells the Story beneath all the stories of the Bible. It takes the whole Bible to tell the Story. And at the center of the Story, there is a baby, the Child upon whom everything would depend. From Noah to Moses to King David, every story whispers his name. He is like the missing piece in a puzzle--the piece that makes all the other pieces fit together.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? As far as writers go: C S Lewis, Edward Lear, A A Milne, James Marshall, to name just a very few... and teachers: Dr Timothy Keller, pastor of my church in New York City; Fredreck Buechner; Helmut Thielecke; Brennan Manning

It's a love story about a brave Prince who leaves his palace, his throne, everything to rescue the one he loves. It's like the most wonderful of fairy tales that have come true in real life. You see, the best thing about this story is--it's true. It takes the whole Bible to tell this story. And at the center of the Story there is a baby. Every story in the Bible whispers his name. He is like the missing piece in a puzzle--the piece that makes all the other pieces fit together and suddenly you can see a beautiful picture. And this is no ordinary baby. This is the Child upon whom everything would depend. This is the baby that would one day-- but wait, our story starts where all good stories start. Right at the very beginning..."
