I have been shocked to learn that Young's inspiration for this book is a channelled "devotional," God Calling. She even explains this in the Introduction to this book (earlier editions only; Thomas Nelson, publisher, has removed this information from later editions). Channelling is acting as the conduit or medium for the spirit world to receive information. Young then used the same method to write Jesus Calling. This is also explained in earlier editions. I could go on--google it for yourselves. I recommend Warren B. Smith's excellent book, "Another Jesus" Calling.
I look forward to reading this Devotional every morning. It is just BEAUTIFUL! I bought this one for a friend to give as a gift. Sarah Young has truly been touched by the Hand of God to have written something so Spirit-filled and encouraging. This book is a lovely gift and a treasure to read.
I recently gave this book to my cousin who was just diagnosed with Lupus and she is engaged to be married. She loves it so much. She reads it a few times a day and she also reads it with her fiance. She said it's been a Blessing! I would recommend it to anybody.
I love reading this book. I don't usually follow the dates that are assigned to each day. I find that once I start reading I can't stop. I've read the book several times. It really hits home in so many areas. I find it very uplifting and rewarding to read. I've given several of them out as gifts to people I care about.
