Any thing that Bro. Tozer writes is excellent, including this read. It mixes humor with good solid spiritual facts. Highly recommend.I also recommend "The Best of Tozer", books 1 & 2. Brings to the surface things that Christians never imagined, or overlooked.

I didn't like the cover at all. I found it very inappropriate. The old cover was of a stately Lion--something, or someone able to talk back to the devil.

    It's getting beyond "church"

Tozer is rightly called "20th century prophet." We as believers need to get beyond the mechanics of "doing church" and walk in the challenging world of true Christian witness. Tozer helps give a courageous vision for this task. I do believe the cover needs to be changed. It seems so trivial as opposed to the content of the book.

Yet another great compilation of AW Tozer writings on a particular subject - this one concerns the Christian's spiritual maturity. While the book opens with the Christian's enemy (the devil), most of the title deals with spiritual growth. The author covers many points:

    - True believers ought to be the most joyful, fearless, confident (in God), happiest, and God-assured people in the world.

    - Christian service can get in the way of a relationship with God.

    - The mature believer has learned to stand alone with God instead of seeking popularity.

    - Don't interfere with God's working in your life.

    - The futility of trusting in ourselves instead of trusting in God.

    - God wants us to love Him for Himself and not just for His gifts.

    - God does much of His greatest work in the hidden and unseen.

As with other Tozer books, the book is simple to read and yet contains many profound spiritual insights. Great title and will be read again. Recommended.

Mr. Tozer has written an amazing book which strikes at the heart of being termed a "Christian" and how a Christian should be totally sold out to Yeshua. He doesn't pull any punches but goes right to the heart of witnessing for Yeshua. I believe it is a must for all who are truly faithful to Him, to read. It will stir you up inside.
