This is the 3rd YWAM biography that we have read and, let me tell you, we are hooked! The Benges do such a beautiful job of weaving in facts with a story that is easily understood for young and old alike. If we all had the unwavering faith, as Hudson Taylor did, then the Christian church would be unstoppable. We walked away as a family challenged to taste, as Hudson did, and see that the Lord is good! Wonderful missions series without the denominational slants found in many missions books!

I started reading this book on a train journey from Melbourne to Sydney. I travelled by day so as to view the countryside. Once I opened the book I could not put it down so therefore saw little of the views from the window of the fast moving train. The book makes one feel humble in reading how this man loved his Lord and put his life in his hands to serve him and to bring people to salvation.I will read this book over and over again. Loved every page and have bought more books on the life of this very humble and gracious missionary,Hudson Taylor. Thank you for writing the book for all of us to know about him.

We love all of these! Hudson Taylor especially showed great faith which was inspiring to my kids. Several times he "choses" to rely on God rather than take or ask for provisions from man. My kids also thought it was neat how he chose to live and dress like the Chinese. We did this one as a read aloud and the kids always begged me to keep going!

Hudson Taylor is a remarkable man of God. My boys and I have been reading the Christian Heroes Then and Now books for years. We enjoy them very much.
