I read a chapter in college a professor recommended back in 1983. It helped me grasp the most diffcult of text books in any subject--even the ones I didn't enjoy. Subjects and authors came alive and helped me find shape in the void.

I had heard of this book when I was young, and remember thinking it was a silly idea, reading a book on how to read a book. More recently, I stumbled upon it, half by accident, half by simple curiosity, and was intrigued by the description and reviews. I eventually decided to purchase it. My sole regret is not having purchased it sooner.

The author divides reading into four levels, and basically teaches the reader how to X-ray a book. Excellently written, I consider this book to be *invaluable* for working people and students alike.

This is excellent for improving reading skills. All high school students should go through this and adopt its recommendations.
