This is a very helpful book. Its a fast, easy read, no frills, just practical how to. When I had only two weeks until I was to preach my first sermon, and without any formal training, this book provided a method to put it together.

This is a well written reference for those who have gone through seminary school/college. It helps to be reminded of the basics so to fine tool pieces for Sunday morning. I highly recommend this book to those in seminary as well as those who have many years of Sunday mornings in the pulpit.

This book is well written, pointed and every principal is directly applicable to preparing and delivering quality sermons. I highly recommend it. Simple terms, easy to read and understand, blunt, pointed approach to the problems of sermon development and how to correct them.

In this day and age distance learning is on the rise and many denominations now have leadership training available via correspondence. As one in preparation for ministry via this route, I found that preaching isn't always covered as thoroughly as theology, church government, and the like. I found this book to be of great help when I was introduced to preaching, and would highly recommend it as a primer for any layperson or elder called to preach. Having said that, I would add that it isn't a thorough treatment on homiletics, and the author makes that clear. For this reason alone I would suggest that anyone who is experienced in the pulpit make another selection.
