M.E.5 Stars Out Of 5Stick with it!January 4, 2023M.E.Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5My son has used Horizons Math since Kindergarten. Horizons 4 Math was tough and I even considered switching curriculums for 5th grade. Each lesson took him a solid hour to complete and sometimes it felt like too many practice prolems. I finally started cutting some of the problems so that he could get the work done, and we powered through the year. This year my son is half-way through Horizons 5 math and I am so happy that we stuck with it. The lessons are easier for him again and I can see the value in not jumping around from curriculum to curriculum. This curriculum is top-notch.

LisaM53055 Stars Out Of 5August 7, 2008LisaM5305If your child likes math, you will love this curriculum. Very colorful and engaging. It does move fast so be prepared to spend some time on extra practice if needed. Very thorough, too. We used Horizons for a few years then used Saxon for 3rd grade. What a mistake. We're definitely going back to Horizons.

indirtTXAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5August 7, 2007indirtTXAge: 35-44Gender: femaleA few years ago, I pulled my daughter out of public school because their math program was failing the ENTIRE 3rd grade- 3 classes. My daughter had low self-esteem in math. This program built her self-esteem quickly. It also filled in the holes left by the curriculum the public school used - they skipped important concepts! After her 6th grade year with Horizons, we started her in Algebra 1 with Teaching Textbooks (secular)and she is still doing wonderfully. Horizons is thorough with their math concepts, yet fun and easy to look at and learn (and grade).
