Roanna Weilmeier5 Stars Out Of 5November 15, 2010Roanna WeilmeierQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5My 7 year old son LOVES math! Horizons math has been perfect for him, as it has cute colored pictures and moves along at a quicker pace. He excels at Gr. 3 level multiplication/division tables, and so finding that in a level 2 book is great. I do think, unfortunately, that for the average Gr. 2 child, the Horizons Math would be too difficult ... but if you have a math lover, then this is the book series for you!

At the end of the week there is a test. The next week starts off with the same material a bit harder and harder or it will add a new topic.

KSmith5 Stars Out Of 5Great!March 13, 2018KSmithQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5We recently started using Horizons. My son did the placement test and tested in to level 3, but he is young and to be sure we didn't have any gaps and he had a bit extra practice on a few concepts, we decided to start with level 2, book 2. So far he is enjoying it! I like that in most lessons there are several problems of 1 concept to make sure he is able to review and master each concept, but that being said, sometimes the amount of review is too much for my math minded boy. If it is a concept he has mastered, I just have him do a few for review and move one. I like the number of problems in each lesson as well as the continuous spiral practice of concepts. Horizons was not a good fit for my older son, but for this child it has been great!

JuliaAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent bookFebruary 19, 2013JuliaAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5My son is in second grade and I was not happy with the math book we had been using the year before so I decided to give this book a try. We both love it. It is challenging but it incorporates multiple exercises so that he doesn't get overwhelmed. We will be using Horizons next year!
