We got started on this book by mom getting one for a dollar at a yard sale. Although I never did like daily devotionals much, I started reading this one when visiting her. It became my favorite. You can read it year- after-year (as we have been). It's not specific to one year for example 2003 or something. It's just numbered with the date and a one page devotion per day. Each one is uplifting; not the heavy hammering of some that can actually send you in the downward spiral rather than encourage. You can get the leather version very inexpensively if you shop around. We have bought over 50 and given them away to friends and family occasionally checking in with each other on the daily reading. The warm-hearted evangelist has given us a pleasant little book of thoughts which often encourage and sometimes challenge the reader toward a better devotion to God the Father. Being a book lover, I was attracted to the page designs, the nature photos, and the padded cover; but as a reader, I could have consumed the whole book in an hour. I don't think these kind of short, pretty books make the best daily devotionals, but as gifts or as a workday break to spur your thoughts toward heaven, Hope for Each Day is probably one of the best.
