Meredith Curtis4 Stars Out Of 5Home Run brings Hope to Addicts!January 2, 2014Meredith CurtisQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4
This movie was realistic, but so encouraging. It shows the way addicts live and affect the people in their lives. Jesus changes lives! This movie shows the change that Jesus makes in one man's life. The only thing that made me sad is that they did not share the Gospel in the film.

I purchased it for my great grandchildren, but after watching it, decided it was better for older teens and adults. My 24-year old grandson will get it for Christmas instead. It is about real-life
situation and with a good ending that was believable.
ragomez4 Stars Out Of 5Great Movie ... Short of EvangelisticOctober 27, 2013ragomezQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4
This movie focuses primarily on the life of a person who endured an abusive childhood and coped with it through alcohol. It presents the consequences of allowing such a course to take control of a person's life and those that are close to them. Additionally, it presents a twelve-step recovery program, "Celebrate Recovery", which is Christian based; along with testimonials of people who went through diverse life challenges and how God changed their life. Although their lives are not perfect now, their lives are better-off because of God in their life.
Although the main character of the film does present his testimony at the end of the film, the film does not present his conversion experience (e.g. sinner's prayer, or praying with the CR leader on the scene where he confessed to the leader that he could not stop drinking and stop the cycle). As time passes by, more faith-based films are doing this, and to me, this is falling short of scripture:
... "if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Rom. 10:9-10).
If it were not for this, I would give the film five stars. Nonetheless, I would highly recommend this movie for people who are struggling with addictions of any kind and for people who work with or live around them as well. Check-it out for yourself!

This is a realistic movie that all should own and share with anyone who might be struggling with an addiction! My husband and I saw it in the theaters and really enjoyed it and knew we would buy it to share.

The theme of the DVD presents a message that gives hope for any one who is has an addiction. It addresses the denial of the problem and also gives examples as to the problems that occur with an addition. However, it declares victory can come thought faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
