When his uncle dies, Aaron Troyer travels from his farm to Wisconsin to oversee the management of his uncle's cabins. He is the most arrogant man Lydia Fisher has seen, yet he is her employer since she worked for his uncle to manage the cabins. Sparks fly between them as he calls the cabins uncared for. But he can't return home until he helps is widowed aunt and tries to make the tourist cabins workable and attractive. When danger comes into the picture Aaron's main priority is to keep Lydia safe. Lydia wants a home of her own and imagines it could be with Aaron. But is she just wishing? Chapman writes her characters and settings as if know them. From the first page, Chapman captures the interest of her reader.

    Book Description

Aaron Troyer simply wants to farm like his father and grandfather before him. But instead he finds himself overseeing the family's small group of guest cabins nestled along the banks of Pebble Creek. That also means he must work with the cabins' housekeeper, Lydia Fisher.

Lydia is the most outspoken Amish woman Aaron has ever met, and she has strong opinions about how the guest cabins are to be run. She also desperately needs this job. Though sparks fly between boss and employee at first, when the cabins are robbed, nothing is more important to Aaron than making sure Lydia is safe.

    My Review

This book is the book 2 in the Pebble Creek Amish Series by Vannetta Chapman. I love Vannetta's books and if you like her as well as I do, you will not be disappointed.

This book is about Lydia Fisher and Aaron Troyer. Lydia has worked for Aaron's uncle for a while trying to maintain the cabins. When Aaron's uncle passes away, Aaron Troyer comes to Pebble Creek Wisconsin. Lydia has issues and so does Aaron when the 2 of them meet. They both have to get through these issues and they do.

They both work together and at first, they don't get along at all, it is almost like they hate each other but really don't. How God brings these 2 people together is amazing. Then Miriam Miller is scared when her mamm gets sick and Miriam is so afraid that her mamm is going to die, but she doesn't. The Lord pulls her through. But what Miriam has to go through, it is only the work of the Lord saying "Trust Me". I've been there before when I had to put all my trust in him and he whispered "Trust Me".

It is such a GREAT book, I know that you will want to read this. I loved it and thank you Vannetta for giving us all such a GREAT book to read and give a review on.

I won't say anything else, I don't want to spoil the book for you. I really would suggest this book to read, it is a GREAT one. I couldn't' hardly put it down. I would definitely suggest this book to my family and friends. Thank you Vannetta for giving us this story.

Thank you Harvest House, for giving me the opportunity to read this book and give this review.

A Home for Lydia was a great continuation of characters in The Pebble Creek Amish series. Vannetta Chapman's characters are realistic facing real life issues. A Home for Lydia was filled with struggles, illness, hard work, determination, loss, faith and love. Aaron Troyer was sent to Pebble Creek to assist his aunt's family with the cabins his deceased uncle owned. He was not happy about going to Pebble Creek, as he wanted to be a farmer. However, Aaron had determination and a vision for success with the renting of the cabins for Englishers to come and relax at. Lydia was working at the cabins and had a very strong personality, thus creating some unpleasant times between her and Aaron.

Ms. Chapman created some unexpected twists and turns in A Home for Lydia that kept me turning the page to see what was going to happen. Without revealing all the individuals who became involved with the cabins and those who racked havoc on them, I highly recommend reading A Home for Lydia. There is enough information from book one, A Promise for Miriam, that this book could be read as a standalone book. However, readers will enjoy the characters and respect them more by reading book one first.

Vannetta writes such interesting stories, I get lost in them and usually stay up way past my bedtime, because theyre so hard to put down!

My daughter wasnt surprised in the least when she found me reading in bed, and this morning noticed that I left the book lying on the table when I left for work. As I was going out the door, she remarked, you stayed up late and finished it, didnt you?

Of course I did; especially this story! I love reading Vannettas mysteries, but this one caught me by surprise more than once! Id love to say more, but I refuse to reveal any of the juicy details in my review. But when you find a story so entertaining, so engrossing well, you know what I mean; you lose yourself in it and dont come up for air until youre done!

Theres so much Id love to mention that its difficult to review the story without revealing too much; let me assure you, this book is remarkable and you wont want to put it down until the end.

This is the second book in the Pebble Creek Amish Series. Aaron Troyer wants to be a farmer. He has planned to be a farmer his whole life. When his dream seems to be within reach, he must journey to a distant community and help his newly widowed aunt with the management of some Plain Cabins.

Lydia Fisher cleans and helps manage the cabins. She desperately needs this job to help support her family. Lydia and Aaron are both headstrong and find themselves at odds right from the beginning.

This book is really good. I enjoy the way the attraction builds between the two characters. There is also some mystery and a touch of danger thrown in!

Can Lydia and Aaron really end up together? Or will Aaron's desire to return to his home and farming spell an end to any possible relationship.

I look forward to reading the next book in the series, A Wedding for Julia.
