i've been waiting a long time for this. when i checked back in 2010, lockman only had the nook and kindle versions out. looks like they put this out in 2011 and i just discovered it (2012).

so this book is in the ePub format with adobe DRM. i've got a sony e-reader (e-ink based) which i purchased primarily because i didn't want to be locked into the nook/kindle formats and devices. this ePub version should work well on a wide variety of devices.

to address a couple of the other reviews, i think the navigation works fine. i'm not really sure how they could do it better (but i also haven't used bibles on other devices either). i book marked page 12, which has all the books in the Bible listed on one page. i click/touch on a book, and i get a list of all the chapters in that book, also on one page. click on a chapter, and i'm there. so i can get to any chapter of the Bible in two clicks.

the search functionality is based on the e-reader, not the book. my search works fine ... but of course it searches the whole bible for whatever text i type in ... i can't tell it to only search a particular book.

it does have chapter/section headers and paragraph breaks. but it doesn't have footnotes or cross references, so i guess that would be one area that could be improved.

i'm really glad this finally came out. hope this review helps out someone else.

    love in Christ,

    paul

My favorite version of the Bible and so handy having it on my mini I pod! Don't have to carry another Bible with me to church. Plenty of information on it that I haven't used yet but I love it!

I found the eBook version easier to use than the print version. It's lighter and quicker to get to chapter and verse than my print Bible which comes in handy when my Pastor goes a bit too quickly. One other thing that is often overlooked is that the print size can be made larger, so it becomes large print or even very large print in a few seconds. Together with my commentary and concordance, the accurate translation makes for easy to understand Bible study too.

A great format - easy font to read and easy to navigate - best I've used.

Wish there was a way to highlight a passage (this may be my e-reader and not the e-book's fault, though). Wish there was a way to look up a certain verse by just typing it in instead of having to go to book and then chapter by chapter. Overall a great value for a Bible!
