Cover-to-cover, these wonderful books are filled with easy to read and understand Jewish history in the time of Jesus. I definitely recommend to anyone who is a serious student of God's word. Thank you for making them so affordable even to a grandma on a very limited budget!

Has a lot of useful information, when cross referenced with other materials. It especially seems it was designed this way with the first volume being a reference source to other materials

AS I study the Bible and seek to build a closer relationship with my Lord Jesus, I am constantly looking for those "gold nuggets" of information that bring light to things that the casual reader misses and these books definitely filled the bill. This was a purchase well worth the price and filled with thought provoking facts.

This is a valuable addition to any minister's or serious Bible student's library. Such meticulous documentation is rare in more modern reference works. Though some information is dated, the set offers a wealth of background toward understanding the historical setting of the Bible.

Schurer's work is, without a doubt, the most thorough work to date on the Jewish context of the New Testament. His research is unparalleled (and more reliable than Edersheim's) and is a seminary-level resource essential to any serious student of the Bible's personal library. The work, though extensive, is well indexed both by Scripture citation and by topic, making it very user-friendly and extremely valuable as a reference tool. This work is a great asset to anyone desiring to understand the Bible in its proper context.
