"Hidden Agenda" is a Christian romantic suspense novel. It's the third book in a series. You can understand what's going on without reading the previous novels. However, some events from the previous novels are spoiled in this one, so I'd recommend starting with the first book.

The suspense is high from start to finish. It's mainly created by the physical danger, but it's also from the relationship tensions. Who can they trust after all the lies? Also, Ivan is deaf, but he's now an adult. He wants his sister to stop mothering him and see him as a capable adult. These relationship dynamics kept the story interesting. I appreciated that Olivia and Michael realized they need to get to know each other under normal circumstances to see if their on-the-run attraction is a enduring one.

The Christian element was mostly in how their faith effected their decisions, like the siblings saving a man they weren't sure of or people deciding to forgive the lies that they were told by loved ones. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd highly recommend this suspense novel.

I received this as an ebook review copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

I loved this book! I finished reading it today, but still wanted to read more! Harris made the characters feel like friends and I wasnt ready to say goodbye. I have not read Dangerous Passage or Fatal Exchange, the first two books in this series, but did not feel like I had to in order to enjoy this story. After reading Hidden Agenda I can tell you that I would love to read the other two. Harris is an amazing author. She had me on the edge of my seat, and ignoring my kids because I couldnt wait to find out what was going to happen next.

Olivia and her brother Ivan were waiting to see their mostly absent father Antonio Valez, when Ivan witnessed something horrible. Sneaking away to find his sister they realize there is more going on than either of them knew. Olivia has some questions she wants answered, but they will have to wait. Ivan cant just leave knowing someone is in danger. Michael Hunt is praying for a way out, and doesnt expect that way to be Olivia and her brother. What will happen next? Is anyone safe?

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Romantic Suspense. You can bet I will be reading more by Lisa Harris! I received a copy of this book from Revell in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.

A very satisfying romantic suspense by Lisa Harris, Hidden Agenda zigged and zagged as Olivia, Ivan, and Michael rush headlong to escape the cartel. Indeed, it is hard to run in a straight line when the enemy can be anyone around you. Harris does a wonderful job of setting up a dangerous situation and then throwing the reader into doubt about just who the enemy is. I kept guessing and re-guessing!

This book is also about learning to trust when the going gets tough. NOT only does Olivia have to decide to trust Michael or not, but she must choose whether she can trust God, as well."Michael," says Olivia, "What do you do when something horrible happens, when fear takes hold so hard you can hardly breathe?" "All I know to do is to dig deeper until you remember that God knows exactly what's happening at this very moment. He cares, and no matter what happens, He will never leave you..." Trust. Will we trust or will we freeze when the hard times come? That said, in a sinful world, trusting God does not guarantee safety. Who makes it out of this terror alive, and who becomes collateral damage? A thrilling, chilling read!!

I gratefully received this book from the author for an honest review.

Lisa Harris in her new book Hidden Agenda Book Three in the Southern Crimes series published by Revell Books takes us into the lives of Michael Hunt and Olivia Hamilton.

From the back cover: His cover is blown. Now his enemies are on his heels and closing in.

Michael Hunt is aliveand on the run. Presumed dead by friends and family, the undercover assignment hes been working for the past eight months has just been blown. With a hit out on his life and corruption inside the Atlanta police department, Michael finds himself hunted by both the cartel and the law. His only hope is Olivia Hamiltonthe daughter of the man who wants him dead.

This nonstop chase from Christy Award-winning Lisa Harris will leave you breathless.

This is the third book in the Southern Crimes series and I think it is Ms. Harris best. At the end of the last book Michael was dead now he is not. No, he is not a zombie, he was only reported as dead. However it would have been better for him to have stayed dead because now everyone is gunning for him especially Olivias father who is the head bad guy. Murder, hit and runs, corrupt officials, greed, kidnapping, drugs and drug lords are just some of the ingredients in this high-octane adventure. With Hidden Agenda Ms. Harris has given us a thriller that becomes more and more exciting and nerve wracking until you flip the last page and let out a contented sigh of relief. This is a fun read, it is a fast read, however I do not recommend starting this book late at night because it will cost you sleep as you will not want to put it down. Ms. Harris is an excellent writer and knows how to twist your nerve endings as she tightens the suspense.

Michael Hunt has been presumed dead for the last eight months after a warehouse explosion while working undercover for a drug cartel. Barely escaping with his life, he has been recuperating at the island home of the leader of the cartel.

Olivia Hamilton, a reporter for the local paper, and Ivan, her teenage brother, are visiting their father after Olivia receives anonymous e-mails revealing her father to be the head of the drug cartel.

Betrayed by someone in the police department, Michael's cover has been blown. When Ivan overhears his father ordering Michael's death, he convinces Olivia they need to get Michael off the island. Now with the three of them on the run from the cartel and the police, they set out to find the truth.

This final book in the Southern Crimes series by Lisa Harris was terrific. It was filled with suspense and intrigue and the heartfelt attraction between Michael and Olivia was magnetic. Having all the characters from the previous books involved in this story made for a perfect ending.
