ChooseWiselyFredericksburg, VAAge: 25-34Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Adventure and LoveMay 22, 2014ChooseWiselyFredericksburg, VAAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I love to read Historical Fiction like this new title from Robin Lee Hatcher. When I select books to review, I always choose according to what I already know I love. I know myself well, because I easily read The Heart's Pursuit in a day. It is an enjoyable read and is very entertaining.
Robin Lee Hatcher tells the story of Silver Matlock who is left waiting at the altar. Blinded by her desire to marry, she missed the truth before her eyes. The groom not only broke her heart, but also made off with her family's money. In desperation, she seeks out the help of a bounty hunter, Jared Newman. Jared works as a bounty hunter, but his true mission is to find and kill the man who murdered his family. The pair set off across the west on their own agendas, but find something unexpected in each other.
What I loved about this title is the strength Hatcher has written in Silver. She is a lady, but she is also strong and holds her own. Silver never backs down and remains determined. What I disliked about this book is the silence between the characters. Jared barely speaks on their trail ride and I wanted more from him. There is a stated reason for his silence, but I love to watch a romance grow.
Overall, this book is a four star Romance. If you love historical fiction, with action, adventure, love and a handsome hero this book is for you! I was given a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I have not been compensated and all opinions are my own. -

lmbarteltMyerstown, PAAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Enough to keep me reading but I expected moreMay 8, 2014lmbarteltMyerstown, PAAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 2This review was written for The Heart's Pursuit - eBook.I'd put this one in the 3.5 range if I could. It's my first Robin Lee Hatcher book (I received an e-copy from the publisher through the Booklook Bloggers program in exchange for my review) and I enjoyed the story for the most part. It didn't "wow" me, although that's certainly not a requirement for novels. But the characters were strong and believable and the conflict was enough to keep me turning the pages.

SuzieNashville, TNAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5The Heart's Pursuit by Robin Lee HatcherMay 3, 2014SuzieNashville, TNAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5Silver Matlock has managed to put her parents in financial hardship. At least that's the way she sees it. When she is abandoned on her wedding day by the man who was to be her groom, she believes he was also responsible for stealing the money out of her father's safe that was to be used to pay off the mortgages of their home and their store. Determined to find the man who stole from them, she hires Jared Newman, a bounty hunter who is one his own quest for revenge. He has been searching for the man who murdered his family, intent on bringing him to justice.
As Silver and Jared travel from Colorado to Nevada on horseback, neither of them wants to admit they are growing closer to each other. Silver was just burned by a man, and isn't ready to put herself in a situation where her heart will lead her wrong again. Jared is used to being on his own, but the stubborn woman who refuses to follow his orders is changing that. Will the two of them be able to let go of their past hurts and let their hearts heal enough to find the love God intended for each of them?
The Heart's Pursuit by Robin Lee Hatcher is a bit of a departure from her normal settings, but the different, almost western, style works. Readers will still enjoy the relationships and the settings that Hatcher is known for. This is another fantastic Hatcher must-read for her fans.
****BookLook Bloggers and Zondervan provided me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest and fair review. I was not compensated in any manner for either a positive or a negative review. -
crtnybcBritish Columbia, CanadaAge: 35-44Gender: female3 Stars Out Of 5Entertaining but not very realistic or originalMay 31, 2014crtnybcBritish Columbia, CanadaAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 3Value: 3Meets Expectations: 2If you suspend reality for the time being and pretend this might really have happened, it's an entertaining old west story. I couldn't really believe that a girl like Silver, even with her somewhat wild ways, would take off with a man on such a quest, knowing that it would entirely ruin her reputation. Past that, though, it's a fun chase after a mysterious killer who may or may not be tied to the man who left Silver at the altar and took off with her parents' life savings.
I would have liked to see something that really set this story apart from all the other christian fiction westerns out there, but it's pretty run of the mill. At least you know what you're getting. It's a quick read, and makes for a nice escape at the end of a long day.
I received this book from Litfuse and Zondervan for the purpose of an honest review. My opinion is my own.
