I felt as though I had written this book myself. It is very scary and sad but helpful to know that you are really not CRAZY! I would love to talk to the author. It is a lonely time, during & after divorce. Your self esteem is at it's lowest & it would be nice to share and encourage one another.

This book was really very good.

"When Happily Ever After Shattes" takes an honest look at adultery and abondonment with true grace; showing how leaning on and trusting in God will anchor us in hope, even in our darkest moments. God's love will never fail us.

The big white dress. The flowers. The church. The kids. The years. The breakup. Wait--what? What do you do when your (or your friend's) marriage disintegrates before your eyes? When you can stop crying long enough to read a chapter at a time, dig into Sue Birdsey's When Happily Ever After Shatters, published by Focus on the Family in conjunction with Tyndale Publishers. Sue has first-hand experience in not only dealing with abandonment, divorce, and single parenting, but thriving through it.

Sue offers practical advice for those going through every step of this life-altering tragedy. She also offers advice for friends and families of those suffering. This book was so good that I read it straight through in two sittings. I highly recommend it for everyone because we all know someone going through divorce right now.

Disclaimer: This book was provided to me free of charge from Tyndale Publishing in hopes that I would provide a review. The opinions expressed are my own.

I cried many times while reading, but with each tear as God did with her, he will do with me.

I will get through this in Jesus name.

I heard Sue being interviewed on Janet Parshall's radio program and knew I needed to read her book. Her grace, honesty, and transparency to share are amazing. This is SUCH an important story of God's faithfulness. Believers and non-believers alike will be encouraged and strengthened by Sue's courage and faith in Jesus in the midst of "overwhelming cruelty" (Malachi 2:16). He alone is faithful!!
