I like the thoroughness of the book because I can use it to gather information about many denominations about which I have no idea at all. However, I was little disappointed by the fact that the book does not distinguish the orthodox (or evangelical) Christian denominations from cults or other non-Christian religions. It is written from a general perspective, not from an orthodox (or evangelical) Christian's perspective. Maybe that is a good thing in a certain way in the publisher's view.
I was looking for a resource on the different denominations as there is so much bias and miss-info out there. I showed this book to several people from the different christian faiths mentioned in the book and the info is accurate. I would recommend this book to any who has heard anything negative about the different denominations.
I am surprised at how thorough and precise is the information contained in this book. It is a valuable resource that I'm still trying to figure out how I did without. Very clear, concise, and objective. I highly recommend.
I got this book to provide me a quick reference to the differing Christian groups I deal with when it comes to conversion to the Roman Catholic Church. It gives me enough information regarding the theological pedigree of a particular group to indicate the correct path I must take didactically, catechetically and sacramentally with those wishing to enter the Roman Catholic Church.
