It explains and distinguishes Law and Gospel which are the foundations of Christianity, in a simple, thoughtful way that kids can relate to. The devotions are not too short that they do not address the issue, or too long that kids can get bored reading.

The inside of the devotional is a wonderful, calming blue color that would be appealing for night reading or reading first thing in the morning. The content of the devotions themselves are wonderful. I was particularly struck by the Washed Clean devotion on January 6, which compares sin to dirt that can be washed off by Jesus when you confess to Him, just like He washed the dirt off the feet of His disciples. The devotions begin with a short Bible verse, followed by an age appropriate story relating how the lesson of the verse can be applied at home, school, in relation to parents, peers, siblings and strangers. It ends with a Growing in Grace section, which suggests fun, practical activities that can help put into practice the message of the Bible verse.

I searched for a while before deciding on this devotional, because a lot of the devotional material for the tween age group, while being engaging to read, either did not, or did a shabby job of explaining the Gospel. The Grace for the Moment devotional adapted by Tama Fortner is both very engaging to read and clear about our sinful condition and the wonderful gift of Gods Grace through Jesus.

If you are looking for a nice, engaging, short devotional for your tween child/sibling, I suggest you check this one out. Its beautiful! Im excited about gifting it to my ten- year old sister for Christmas, and hope it helps her grow in the knowledge of Gods Grace and His Gospel.

I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review.

i have never been a fan of most devotionals I've seen for kids, but I'm enjoying using this one with my son. it covers really important ideas that kids need to know but in an encouraging and thought provoking way. its easy to use and doesnt take much time. This is especially helpful for my son who has a low attention span.

I purchased this devotional to read with my (very advanced) toddler. I am daily encouraged by the simplicity and clear passages AND practical application extensions that follow!!... This devotional really helps with explaining biblical topics that would otherwise be considered "complex". Thank you publishers and editors!.. We really really are being blessed by this work!

Skewing even younger, Lucado's message from Grace cascades down further into a family devotional format - one I've been sharing with the Littles. At 8 and 10, they don't quite grasp everything presented here without some explanations or minor clarification, but they're quite taken to reading this together each night - if only to prolong their bedtime ritual. Each entry offers a Bible verse, an illustration (story, not picture), and a practical nugget (sometimes even a project to work on).

This has been a good time to spark discussion for us and it helps to facilitate deeper conversations.
