Product Description

When a charming polar bear cub climbs into bed one night, she asks her Mama a very important question--one that little "human cubs" often wonder about, too: "Where did I come from?" As Mama bear tucks her youngest cub under the quilts, she gently, tenderly, and reassuringly communicates the message loving parents everywhere (bears and non-bears alike) want their little ones to hear: "We wanted you very, very much, and we are so very glad because--"God gave us you."

Perfect for bedtime, naptime, storytime or anytime, God Gave Us You provides a valuable opportunity to build children's self-esteem every day and assure each one that he or she truly is a welcomed, precious, and treasured gift from the Lord. Recommended for ages 4 to 8.

Author/Artist Review

Author: Lisa Tawn Bergren

Tell us a little about yourself.  I am a full-time mother, wife and writer. I am a leader in my local MOPS group, lead the occasional bible study and procrastinate for weeks on my next writing projects by messing around with my kids. Painting toenails, etc.

What was your motivation behind this project?  Olivia and Emma are my daughters, 5 and 2 years old. I wanted a way to show them not only how much their parents wanted them and celebrated their life from the start, but also how God did too.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I hope it will be a good way to answer the omnipresent "Where did I come from?" question when your kids are too young to get into specifics. And I hope it will remind the adults how they are a treasured creation of God as much as show the kids that they are treasured too.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  For this project, my kids! My daughters come up with amazing theological insights and tough questions that make me think all the time.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  People are buying this book for baby showers and baby gifts all the time. It has gorgeous art-- check out my website: www.lisatawnbergren.com if you want to see a couple of interior spreads! Wonderful! And WaterBrook is publishing a follow- up book next fall: GOD GAVE US TWO; the main purpose for that book is to prepare a child for a sibling. Same artist!
