"God Calling" is one of my favorite books. I've read it over a dozen times. I don't like being stuck on a certain page, so I read 5 pages at a time. However, I may read those 5 pages for 3 or more days in a row if I need to. I have more than 50 tabs in it and it is underlined all over the place.

Sometimes I am so stressed out, but when I hang on to some of the passages through out the day, they keep me calm.

I'm glad they use dates rather than page numbers. At least I know if I refer someone to a passage, the

date won't change, where a page number might with a different printing.

I usually buy these 5 or 10 at a time and give them as gifts.

Excellent! I have been reading this book for years and it is always very meaningful. I think that the messages connect my spirit to the Spirit of God.

I have been reading God Calling every day for 40 years and it is always just what I need each day. I have purchased many copies for friends, who also love it, as we are encouraged to listen to God and journal His words to us.

Ive read negative reviews on some of the God Calling versions. This book wasnt written by people claiming to be educated theologians. It clearly admits it was taken from the notes of two simple, common women who humbly took God at His Word that He would guide them into all truth and teach them, if they read His Word, asked for His guidance, and tarried in His Presence. Through these daily disciplines, in faith asking God to teach them, and waiting expectantly, the two listeners received these insights. They did not seek fame for their brilliant writings, nor even name themselves. They glorified God, not self.Is it supernatural when our limited human mind receives "revelations" concerning things we did not understand and in which we have not been formally educated? Why did the reviewers assume it was EVIL spirits guiding them? God Calling edifies God, encourages us to study Gods Word and spend quality time WITH God, and encourages us to follow Christ, Who will GUIDE us into all truth (John 16:13). This book challenged me to study Gods Word and ignited a desire in me to spend time in Gods Presence to know Him more intimately and receive instruction for MY life as the two listeners did. Reading reviews, I see God Calling aroused these same desires in others. Would satan guide the writing of a book that plants these desires in its readers? The wisdom of God, imparted by the Spirit of God, is promised to anyone who will humble themselves and spend time in His Presence, asking for and waiting for His direction. The book admonishes us to LIVE the fruits of the Spirit- love, joy, peace, kindness, etc. This makes me think the book is a fruit of the Spirit of God. In Matt. 12:24-33, when Jesus was accused of being in league with satan, he said a tree is known by it's fruit. A book that encourages all this doesnt sound like a book satan would inspire. I CAN see how satan might criticize this book to make people shy away from reading it.

As a full time Minister, this is the only devotional that I consider a must have. For the last 7 years this book has spoken to me right where I am on any given day. It's almost as if Jesus orchestrated your life to prove His Word in this devotional true...EVERY DAY FOR 7 YEARS!
