I read the first couple of chapters online, and then bought the book for my younger sister. She absolutely loved it and has been recounting parts of it ever since. She lent it to her older sister, who lent it to my other older sister, who's going to lend it to two other friends!

The message is excellent and couldn't come at a better time: wake up! Seek God.

The literary apparatus of contrasting the the wild woman and the wise woman is done with much though; the author makes it a fun, quick read, packed with truth and conviction.

    Highly recommend.

Girls Gone Wise in a World Gone Wild

When the publisher of this book suggested I read and review this book because it would be perfect content for my blog, which is geared toward young women and teens, I jumped at the opportunity.

And I, as well, figured that it would be perfect for my audience of readers. We were both right, it is a perfect example of the message I'm am trying to get out to the young women of today.

Girls Gone Wise is a "must read" for every woman, young or old, on the planet. That may sound a little extreme, but once you've read it for yourself, you will understand my thinking behind that statement.

Mary Kassain delivers a strong message of the importance of making wise choices when it comes to our roles as a women. She spells out the negative consequences that wild choices, as well as, wild behavior, will bring us if we choose to live our lives in such a manner.

She points out that many women, and even teens, have been duped into believing that immodest dress and behavior are the norm for today's woman, and should be adhered to. And by following these societal guidelines, a woman will some how be rewarded. When in reality the opposite is true. And some women have completely lost their bearings as to which direction to go, in terms of portraying herself to the world and to the opposite sex.

With much biblical accuracy, she clearly contrasts the wise women of the bible from Proverbs 31, with the wild women of the bible from Proverbs 7. In hopes to guide and bring understanding to women, of all ages, concerning their discernment of what is good, and acceptable, and noble, not only to the Lord, but for personal reasons as well. For there are many rewards for good and righteous conduct.

She challenges women to examine themselves in a realistic manner using the bible and the Lord's teachings as a guide. She persuades them to look at their own behaviors, attitudes, appearance, speech and more. To consider their heart in the light of the scripture.

I loved this book, and I highly recommend it to your daughters, nieces, sisters, grand-daughters and friends. Personally, I am giving it to my daughter for Christmas. This is a well overdue subject and I am so glad it has finally been brought up.

This book hits important issues from an entirely biblical explanation. I was impressed by the author's ability to present reasons from a spiritual point of view, rather than a set of guidelines based on how Christian girls should behave and be seen by others. Girls Gone Wise is not focused on modifying behaviour for the sake of being a "good" girl, but on understanding how our attitudes, character, appearance demonstrate Christ to others, and a make an unmistakeable statement...sometimes without words.

I will be using this book for my High school Girls Sunday school class. Modesty is an issue with my girls and I hope this book will make them think about the immage they are presenting.
