abimereTorontoAge: 25-34Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Eye Opening & Life Changing Book!August 16, 2017abimereTorontoAge: 25-34Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Forgotten God.**What the book is about?
Francis Chan writes about the power of the Holy Spirit in the lives of every Christ follower.
**Favourite lines in the book:
"... the Spirit is more obviously active in places where people are desperate for him, humbled before Him, and not distracted by their pursuit of wealth or comforts..."
** What I loved most about the book?
I have personally been rebuked by this book and it made me carefully consider whether or not I put my faith into action. I love that, after the end of each chapter, Francis Chan included testimonies of other believers who have dedicated their whole lives in obedience to the Word of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The testimonies really allowed me to understand each topic in a deeper sense - actions truly speak louder than words.
**Length of the Book: There are 7 chapters and about 15 pages to read per chapter. -
tonySrDeptford, NJAge: Over 65Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5The Forgotten GodMarch 23, 2015tonySrDeptford, NJAge: Over 65Gender: maleThis is an anointed book and should be required reading for every Christian regardless of your background and experience. Francis Chan emphasizes the great need of the Holy Spirit in our lives and in the church. We have drifted so far from the Holy Spirit we read about in the first century church. What we have come to accept as the 'Normal Christian Life' today doesn't measure up to the 'Normal Christian Life' of the first century church in the book of Acts. For the most part, we have shut the Holy Spirit out of our lives and out of the church. Great Book!

Al5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent Book!!! Worth Reading Several Times!!!May 5, 2017AlQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5For years this book just sat on my bookshelf collecting dust, but when I finally picked it up and read it I instantly regretted not picking it up sooner. Wow!!! This book was revolutionary to me and my thinking of/on the Holy Spirit. So much so, that I bought some for our local Bible Study group. It has been amazing to watch them grow and have their eyes open to things that they've never considered before.
This is a very easy read, though for some people it may be a little heavy, and is full of some wonderful insight about the Holy Spirit. I especially love that the author doesn't come at the theology of the Holy Spirit from a denominational point of view, but from the view of what the Scriptures say.
This is a worth while book to get and have within your library!!! -

MandyAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Amazing. Changing. freeing. incredible.March 21, 2011MandyAge: 25-34Gender: femaleI am changed. This book allowed me to see beyond all expectations and limitations I've ever put on God. My understanding of the holy spirit has grown so much in the past weeks of this book. Furthermore, this kind of closeness to God has never existed for me until this book. I was raised in a religion that when I left that particular church was told I would not have the gift of the holy spirit. This devastated me-but still knew it was the right decision for me. Consequently- I haven't been able to truly let go of that conversation and always questioned the holy spirit. 10 years later-I NOW KNOW that the holy spirit is with me- regardless that I am not in that particular church. IN MASSIVE WAYS God has proven it to me daily in the past weeks.
